Jason Tompkins is an energetic and creative fashion stylist born and raised in Baltimore City. His humble beginnings started in a tiny row house that was converted from a horse stable in the early 1900’s.
Inspiration flourished in Fells Point where he was heavily influenced by patchouli scented punk rock shops of the 90’s and cramped dampened water-side antique galleries. With a curiosity for everything visual and exciting he naturally was drawn towards fashion. As a high-school student Jason studied Ballet at the Baltimore School for the Arts and figure-skated vigorously in his off time. This sensibility for movement has trained his eye to create fluidity and grace in his work. His education at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Conde Nast School of Design refined his eye for luxury, style and beauty. Jason’s adventurous spirit continues to lead him to explore and translate everything that trickles onto the edges of contemporary, culture, art and fashion. Mr. Tompkins worked as assistant stylist to fashion editors Alex Van der Steen and Damian Foxe. During this time he worked with a number of top fashion publications including ;Essential Homme, The London Financial Times, Surface Magazine, Vestal Magazine, Success Magazine, Factice Paris and more. His clients have included, Amuze.com, Under Armour, Bali Fashion Group, American River University,West Elm, Bambeco, 3Clothing and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.He is a member of the Advisory Board for Stevenson University and enjoys mentoring young talent and lecturing to college students about what he has learned working in the Fashion Industry. Jason has lectured to University of Baltimore American River University and Stevenson University on the content of creativity and fashion. He hopes to connect on an emotional level with the world through his work in these visual spaces.
